EarthWeek 2009
District Energy St. Paul and Ecolab were the primary sponsors of EarthWeek activities in downtown
Saint Paul in April 2009. Organized by the CapitolRiver Council, EarthWeek events educate and increase awareness of environmental issues relating to downtown residents, workers, businesses and property owners.
An EarthWeek Kickoff was held at the Lowry Theatre with the Mayor's Proclamation and a Brown Bag Lunch showcasing speakers from District Energy, Ecolab and Waste Management. A portion of the downtown Saint Paul skyway system was filled with displays and presentations during the Skyway Fair. The downtown neighborhood was beautified through community participation in the Adopt-A-Block cleanup of streets, sidewalks and parks. The week’s events concluded with a volunteer wrap-up party at the Hat Trick Lounge.
