EarthWeek 2010
This year’s celebration of earth week took on a new twist. District Energy, Ecolab and the Capitol
River Council collaborated to set up a space in the skyway, donated by the Alliance Bank Center. The location was named EarthWeek Central and the theme was “Buy Local.” Each day a new focal point was profiled, encouraging attendees to take advantage of local resources. The space included information, displays and handouts on topics in the range of transportation, art, food, and energy.
Volunteers with this group also participated in a Parks Clean-Up, Wishes for the Sky and Adopt-A-Block,
a citywide clean-up fol-lowed by a Wrap-Up Party at the Hat Trick Lounge.
