September 2023 marks 40 years since Ever-Green’s flagship utility, District Energy St. Paul, began serving its first customer, the George Latimer Central Library. Developed to be a model for the nation, the system has continued to meet that vision by growing to become the largest, most advanced hot water heating system in the US, integrating combined-heat and power, biomass, solar thermal, and thermal storage technologies to supply heating to more than 80% of downtown Saint Paul.
